DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position supports daily hospital operations by transporting consumers and maintaining grounds with a range of equipment. As an Equipment Operator A, you will perform the following duties: Vehicle Operation: Operate buses, trucks, vans, tractors, and other vehicles with attention to safety and efficiency Grounds Maintenance: Maintain campus grounds using mowers and other equipment to keep areas safe and attractive Material Transport: Move consumers, employees, supplies, food, and equipment both on and off campus Safety Compliance: Complete inspections and safety checks in accordance with DOT regulations Equipment Care: Perform cleaning, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on assigned vehicles and machines Snow Removal: Operate plows, blowers, and deicing equipment to clear snow and ice during winter conditions Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description. Work Schedule and Additional Information Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. Weekend shifts are required every third or fourth weekend. Your schedule may change based on operational needs. Overtime as needed and subject to emergency call-in. FREE PARKING! Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831.00 (before taxes). Required Experience, Training & Eligibility QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training Special Requirement You must have possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license. Condition of Employment This position requires the selected candidate to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) within the probationary period, in order to meet operational needs.
